I took the 105mm and the 50mm for a spin and got these shots. Some of the simplest things are the most beautiful.
I’ve been eying up the local sunflower fields for a couple weeks now. We are a little behind because of this cooler summer we’ve had in the midwest this year. I’m not complaining, but I am wishing for a humid streak so my tomatoes ripen!
Well, I headed to the Lake Michigan shore to catch the sunrise and was met with a thick blanket of fog that started about 10 miles inland. There was no sunrise, but to my delight I ended up being blessed with a beautiful early morning foggy sunflower field to photograph. It was truly magical!
A beautiful frost and soft light covered the farm this morning. I was fortunate enough to be there and capture it.

We had a nice visit at the Botanical Gardens this morning. The flowers are just gorgeous and I decided it would be a good day to bring my camera and take some pictures of the boys. I feel like summer is literally flying by and I’ve missed so many opportunities to take pictures. I’m always taking pictures with my phone, but it’s just not the same. The sun was a little higher than I would have liked, so it was hard to get some shots because of the harsh light. But I’m happy with how these turned out. I used my Nikon D5000 and 5omm f/1.8 lens.
I have some stories and more pictures to share. But I have to admit I haven’t been the best at posting for the past few months.
I’ll have to work on that. Thanks for stopping by.. and check back soon. There will be more, I promise. 🙂
